Kathryn Burningham

Kathryn studied music at Oxford University, where she was the Organ Scholar of Merton College. This role involved directing the College chapel choir and organising, rehearsing and performing the music for a variety of college functions. She has extensive experience of playing at weddings and planning the music for special occasions. Following her graduation from Oxford in 2005 with a First Class Degree, she went on to work for the Royal School of Church Music, and continues to examine and direct courses for the organisation. Kathryn tutors private pupils and has worked in schools across the South East, including Micklefield Preparatory School in Surrey, and Maidstone Grammar School in Kent.

Whilst working as an accompanist for several years, Kathryn has played at a wide range of functions including concerts, recitals, corporate events and examinations up to diploma level. Kathryn accompanies both instrumentalists and singers, and has worked with many choirs, ensembles and orchestras.

Kathryn was a prize-winner on attainment of the Associate Diploma from the Royal College of Organists (ARCO) and holds the Diploma from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (DipABRSM). She has a particular interest in Baroque music and also plays the harpsichord, recorder and cello.
